Dr. Edwin Ichabod Bartlett Family

Dr. Edwin Ichabod Bartlett was a prominent surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was educated at Johns Hopkins, and his account of a country boy (Idaho) coming to the big city (Baltimore) is fascinating. He was a top-flight professional ahead of his time: if you Google on his name in 2011 you will get his 1921 article on breast cancer surgery; still state-of-the-art 90 years later. His wife, Anna T. Bartlett, was a graduate of Washington State College (now University) in Pullman, WA, Class of 1912. She was the first President of the South San Francisco PTA and First VP of the California PTA, and very active in her church, Millbrae Community United Methodist Church. [note: South San Francisco is a separate city in San Mateo Co., not the southern part of San Francisco.]

They had three children, Edwin Howard Bartlett and Robert T. Bartlett, both deceased, and Helen Bartlett Ballentine, widow of a prominent surgeon in the LA area.
